The retail store and wholesale business ceased operation.  Watch for the further details coming soon! Southern Music Company was both a retail and wholesale distributor of music from over 500 publishers from around the world. In addition, we also published the music of many world renowned composers, arrangers and editors. We have published over 5,000 educational and concert music works. • Southern Music Company of Houston was closed as of May 30, 2003.  Please contact our San Antonio location for order and account information.

• Southern Music Company celebrated the Grand Opening at our new location on Austin Highway on Saturday, October 14, 2000. There were live music performances, free food, and more. We want to thank everyone for attending!

• Southern Music Company has successfully moved!  As reported on July 1, 1999, by the San Antonio Express News, local television (KMOL and KSAT), and radio (KTSA), Southern Music Company had to move to a new location in May 2000!  For almost 50 years, Southern Music Company's three-story, 30,000 square foot store has been a landmark at Broadway and Jones Avenue just north of downtown San Antonio, Texas.  Southern Music Company moved to its current new location in May 2000. It has been estimated that over 300 tons of music, shelving, and furniture were moved. View pictures during the move. The new location is a state-of-the-art distribution facility in the Northeastern San Antonio business corridor.
